Cajun/Creole goodness from Da Levee

There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

  • The Cajun and Creole restaurant Da Levee has returned as a carryout based out of Short Supply bar in the Short North. Operated by Justin Boehme, owner of Short Supply, Da Levee used to inhabit that same space until it closed in 2018.
  • LaSalle’s Southern Kitchen & Bar, a new eatery at 30 S. Young St. downtown, holds its grand opening this weekend, Jan. 14-16.
  • Deborah Quinci, owner of Quinci Emporium, announced on social media this week that she’s moving from her High Street shop to 11 Buttles Ave. in the Short North
  • Hen Quarter in Dublin announced this week that they’re closing until further notice, citing the ongoing pandemic and supply issues.
  • This Saturday, Jan. 15 Experience Columbus and Destination Grandview partner to launch the Columbus Distillery Trail, a free digital passport that takes you to seven locally owned distilleries. As you visit stops, you can earn prizes like a T-shirt or a Simple Times Mixer.
  • Crumbl Cookies has opened another central Ohio location at 4034 Morse Crossing near Easton. This is the fifth Crumbl store in the region.
  • Wolf’s Ridge Brewing announced the open date of its new restaurant, lounge, and event space, Understory, in Old North. It’ll open next week Friday, Jan. 21.
  • Due to a continued rise in Covid cases, Columbus Winter Beerfest, originally scheduled for next weekend, has been postponed to Apr. 15-16 at the Convention Center.
  • Multiple sources have reported that Pub Mahone at 31 E. Gay St. is closing down after March of this year.
  • Business First reported this week that a food hall is coming in 2023 to 364-368 E. Whittier St. in Schumacher Place.
