There’s always a lot happening in the Columbus restaurant world! Here’s the latest:

  • Way Down Yonder Beignets & Coffee celebrates its grand opening next week Tuesday, Feb 15. The shop is an extension of Way Down Yonder New Orleans-style restaurant on South High Street.
  • Pattycake Bakery announced that it has stopped contactless service and re-opening for walk-in service next week. The bakery moved up the street last year to 3870 N. High St., the old Flowers & Bread spot.
  • Speaking of Pattycake’s former home, Tudie’s Cookies & Sweets announced it will open its first storefront in the old Pattycake space at 3009 N. High St. Owner Brittani Hoffman said they’re aiming for an April opening.
  • A new Albanian spot called Velca Grill opened this week at 2151 W. Dublin Granville Rd. in Linworth.
  • Multiple sources have reported that both locations of Oodles Noodle & Dumpling Bar – one on Neil Avenue in Victorian Village and one downtown on Main Street – have closed permanently.
  • Suga Pie’s Cupcakes announced that they’ll be joining The Pit BBQ Grille’s Clintonvile storefront at 4219 N. High St.
  • Dulce Vida Ice Cream & Treats has opened a fourth location at 7370 Sawmill Rd. in Dublin.
  • The Bogey Inn in Dublin announced it will close after business on Saturday, Feb. 26, following the sudden death of its owner last week.
  • A location of Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse opened this week at 3600 Morse Rd. just north of Easton.
  • Parlay Sporting Club & Kitchen also opens this week at 570 N. High St. in Short North.
  • On Sunday, Feb. 20, Seventh Son Brewing will host a rock, paper, scissors tournament called ROSHAMBO 2022. Proceeds from the event, held in honor of World Bartender Day, will go to Service! Relief Kitchen.
  • Next week Wednesday, Feb. 16, Watershed Distillery opens up the lottery for a cask-strength bourbon created with master blender Marianne Eaves. Watershed was one of eight distilleries in the country chosen to work with Eaves as part of her Blind Series of bourbons.
