Global Gallery has been a mainstay in the coffee shop scene for some time, and its location at the heart of Clintonville means it’s been warmly embraced by the neighborhood.
Global Gallery serves as a coffee shop, gallery, and fair trade shop. Also, they have a giant patio out front – partly open and partly covered. It’s a great spot for hanging out and working.
It’s also front and center during the Clintonville Farmer’s Market. There are even some vendors on the patio itself (which is great for people-watching).
Global Gallery is separated into two rooms. The first one, bright and airy, features the counter where you order. The menu includes all the classics: brewed coffee, espresso, hot chocolate, flavored lattes, cappuccinos, chai. They also serve snacks from nearby Pattycake Bakery, Destination Donuts, and other bakeries, plus a couple hot items like quiche and soup.
Up front they also sell local crafts, artwork, and other products. On one of my recent visits, some farmers were there delivering eggs to local customers.
I’ve spied some local coffee beans from spots like One Line and Thunderkiss.
And it’d be wrong not to buy at least one Pattycake cookie…
The next room is full of tables and features their monthly gallery exhibition. There’s free wifi, so it’s a cozy spot to study and read.
There’s nothing quite like a big foamy latte served in a giant cup and saucer.
And on our most recent visit, the boys gladly helped me devour a Destination Donut.
I think Global Gallery fits the bill for a number of needs: a coffee stop, a study space, a little community gathering area. If you’ve never been, it’s time to stop by!
