We’ve already documented our many delightful experiences at The Junto, which opened early summer 2023, through The 6 Things To Do at the New Junto Hotel. The downtown hotel offers comfortable rooms, four different eateries, a gear garage, and great connections to the surrounding neighborhood, but here’s a little icing on the cake: brunch at the eighth-floor eatery, Brass Eye!
The Brass Eye is laid out to feature patios that wrap, at least partially, around three sides of the building. The north-facing section features rows of seats, including bar seats looking inside to the bar itself.
The east patio includes some of the most dramatic views, looking out over COSI, the river, and the Columbus skyline.
And the spacious rear patio offers sunset views over Franklinton, with comfortable seating and a couple fireplaces.
Depending on the weather and the time of year, you’ll get to enjoy all of those during brunch, or at least through the giant windows.
The Brass Eye serves brunch Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The single-page menu takes a little bit to navigate, as the top features wines, cocktails, and coffees. The main feature is the biscuit tower, although there’s a collection of 9-10 a la carte dishes that range in size from appetizers to entrees.
The Manly Morning cocktail features Four Roses bourbon, cold brew (from One Line Coffee), Averna, maple syrup, and whipped egg white.
The Pigeon Ey’d is like a frothy Aperol spritz with Aperol, New Amsterdam vodka, elderflower, juice, and egg white.
Brass Eye’s brunch menu is fronted by the biscuit tower. You can order it for 2-3 or 5-6 people, and it comes with salted butter, lavender honey, pimento spread, a seasonal jam, country ham, and berries and cream. It’s a nice mix of sweet and savory toppings for the golden biscuits.
Of course, you can add on more toppings like smoked salmon with capers, tomatoes, and red onion.
Or bacon, sausage, or sliced chicken tenders.
I’d also suggest the eggs in purgatory, essentially a mini shakshuka with a pimento spread and slices of sourdough.
Other items include deviled eggs, a cobb salad, corn and burrata toast, biscuit sandwiches, or this filling brunch burger.
On our visit DJ Leek has busy spinning tunes for the brunch crowd. Brass Eye hosts music on Sundays.
