Grand Canyon National Park: what more can we say about the Grand Canyon? The south rim, with visitors centers, hiking trails, and observation points, is only 90 minutes north of Flagstaff.
Lowell Observatory: observatory on the hilltop overlooking Flagstaff. Famous as the place where Clyde Tombaugh discovered Pluto in 1930. Visit for special programs, stargazing, tours of the various telescopes.
Meteor Crater & Barringer Space Museum: at 550 feet deep and nearly one mile across, this stunning feature about 45 minutes east of Flagstaff is a wonder to behold. The grounds include a full museum, trails, tours, hotel.
Route 66: America's most famous westward highway runs through downtown Flagstaff, with shops, restaurants, and more all around it.
Sedona: great spot for a day or half-day trip from Flagstaff, only 45 minutes south. Town center with shops and restaurants, multiple trails a short drive away.
Flagstaff train station and visitors center: if you love trains like us, you can hang out by Flagstaff's beautiful train station and watch the very active rail lines that run through town.
Walnut Canyon National Monument: only 20 minutes east of Flagstaff, the canyon trails into the canyon and along the rim, with interesting geological features and hundreds of ancient cliff dwellings.
