Three To Try: Arts Festival Eats

June 9, 2017

The Columbus Arts Festival is this weekend! This Friday through Sunday, June 9-11, the Columbus riverfront will come alive as more than 400,000 people gather (and the weather’s looking great!). For those who don’t know, I work at the Greater Columbus Arts Council, which produces the Festival, and we’re geared up for a weekend of visual art, performances, lots of hands-on art activities, and food! There’s a great selection of food vendors coming to the festival over the weekend. Here are three to track down:

1. Buckeye Donuts Food Truck – Buckeye Donuts will be on site with their bright red truck selling donuts, sandwiches, and gyros. I know I’ll be making a couple visits to the truck…

2. The Cluckwagon – I’m excited to finally try Cluckwagon this weekend. As you can imagine, chicken is the highlight here, and they feature dishes like chicken and waffles, Nashville style chicken thigh sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and more.

3. Barroluco Argentine Comfort Food – Barroluco is beginning to make the rounds for festival season, serving up Argentinian comfort foods like empanadas, paella, and churros.

And there’s much more: pizza, tacos, sausages, noodles, slushies, beer, lemonade, you name it. White Castle will be serving sliders with the Columbus Symphony performance Sunday morning. Come down the Arts Festival this weekend, and if you see me, say hi!
