Three To Try: Afternoon Tea

June 16, 2017

While doing some research for a freelance project, I came across the reference to Asterisk Supper Club in Westerville and how they serve afternoon tea every day. That immediately brought back memories of past trips to England our afternoon at The Orangery in Kensington Palace or the Pump Room in Bath, and that got me thinking about afternoon tea options in Columbus.

1. Mozart’s Cafe – Mozart’s is a Columbus classic, serving the Clintonville community for years. Their afternoon tea is available by reservation, and features miniature scones, canapes, and pastries to go with tea.

2. Cambridge Tea House – Cambridge serves an afternoon tea with a traditional three-tiered tray featured their delightful house-made scones, jam, and cream (the closest we’ve experienced State-side to real English clotted cream); finger sandwiches; and sweets.

3. Asterisk Supper Club – Asterisk serves tea from 1-4 p.m. every afternoon, with a selection of 15+ teas accompanied by sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, plus other treats.

4. Koko Tea Salon & Bakery – Bonus! At their downtown and Gahanna locations, Koko Tea Salon serves afternoon tea, traditional high tea, a mimosa tea, and other specialty teas (including ones geared toward kids).
